one on ones

as simple as they are its one of the best things to help. One on ones are a great way to work on new techniques and to refine old ones. it shows toughness and they're really fun to participate in. it makes you want to work hard instead of always doing mindless stepping drills or just running. this gives a chance to have a game like situation that is mostly safe and can be used anytime with or without pads. incorporating this into practice will really boost morale and speed practice up.

WEIGHT GAIN

if you are an undersized lineman trying to gain weight i know the perfect way to do it, and it wont make you super fat. the secret......food  lots and lots of food. eat everything you can see. as an athlete you should already be doing this just to keep up with all the working out youre doing but, in addition to your food you need to have two of my shakes a day. one when you wake up and one either before dinner or as dessert. they should fill up a large glass and consist of protein powder any flavor any type just make sure your serving has 50 grams of protein in it. two large scoops of ice cream, 2 scoops of peanut butter, and whole milk. mix that together and drink it up its delishh make sure you force yourself to eat what you normally would still even though you might feel like throwing up. if you workout hard at least 5 days a week and speed train while taking this you will gain weight and muscle. my squat went up a hundred pounds and i went from 190 to 250 in less than 6 months just from this

Figure 8 speed drill

This drill will help speed rushers a lot. if you've ever watched a good speed rusher play than you have definitely seen the after effects of this drill in action. one great example is brian orakpo. he fires off the ball low and hard he takes a good angle at the outside shoulder of the tackle making sure to only attack half a man. once he gains ground on the tackle you will notice either a club or a rip. we're going to focus specifically on the rip he violently thrusts his whole arm under the arm of the tackle and raises it up as high as he can. this is the point at which he is demonstrating the figure 8 drill to perfection. you've got the rip in and you just need that little extra leverage on the tackle to get past. so what do you need to do? lower your shoulder and your whole level and drive through. in the figure 8 drill there will be 2 circles set up. out team made them out of real flimsy pvc pipe but you can make them out of anything. they should be set up about a foot apart so you can run around them obviously in a figure 8 shape. in the drill you need to emphasize that players lean to the inside of the circle and get low as much as they can while running aorund quickly as possible. you can add variations to it too like making it into a race or like duck duck goose where one person starts and then a second later another has to go catch him. to emphasize the technique used to pass and o-lineman put someone in the middle of both circles and have player rip through the bad and run through the 8 while leaning their shoulder and pressing into the bag.

Creatine

Creatine is a very well known workout substance amongst us football players. i have recently started taking it. i take just pure creatine monohydrate and  i have been doing so for about 2 weeks now. and it just doesnt seem to do anything for ME. it may help a lot for other people. see what you have to know is that creatine is that it is NOT a supplement. it is a part of your everyday food that you would normally intake in the consumption of red meat for the most part. so the added creatine just aids extra muscle growth it does the same thing as protein which is a true misconception most people glorify it as this amazing miracle substance that once you start taking you will just become 100% jacked!!! creatine like anything else you take in while eating will aid in the recovery of muscles an will not give you any immediate results or energy or anything. give it a try if you like its best to take either 15 before or after a workout. good luck let me know what you think about it

Sumo Circle

the sumo circle is one of the most fun and exhilerating drills for lineman to do. what you do is take a bunch of pinnies or hand shields to make a circular boundary. you dont want it to be too big. as you use the drill you will find the right size. once set up everyone circles around and two people are placed in the center. they start a yard apart in a stance and its a no holds barred brawl to see who is tougher. Last player left in the ring is declared winner and gets to call out another challenger. this is a very mentally and physically challenging drill that will bring your players enthusiasm for the game and toughness on the field to the next level. give it a try

Workout supplements

As a linemen in football everyone knows the main goal is to get just totally HUGEEEEEE. one great way to add extra muscle to your body is through workout supplements. my friend just started taking this stuff and i took it twice to see what its like. the two days i took it i was maxing out and it was just soooooooo great my squat went up 10 pounds magically my concentration was impeccable and i had a ton of energy. if you're looking for a great product to gain strength not specifically weight (that post is soon to come) then this is the stuff you want you will feel great. its called jacked3d check it out. and check out the companies website too its pretty sweet. i suggest cycling it six weeks on six weeks off while you're working out really hard. good luck. please comment with your results and such
